The South Padre Island Beach Patrol is a vital asset to South Padre Island and its tourism. Their main goal is to help save lives!
The SPIBP patrol the beaches of South Padre Island daily beginning in March and up until
mid-September. They are the first responders to any swimmers' in
distress calls, monitor surf conditions, maintain appropriate flag markers, offer basic first aid for jellyfish and stingray
victims, and provide information on safety in the ocean.
They will have 3 manned towers set up this year at Clayton's Beach Bar & Grill, Wanna Wanna's, and between the Saida Towers and Isla Grand hotels!
You can show your support by going to their
facebook page and comment on their wall or call the city of South Padre Island and thank them for having such a wonderful service that helps protect our locals and tourists who venture out in the waters of our beautiful Island!
