Swimmers Take Notice:
Summer time is right around the corner and that means the beaches will soon be filled with beach goers both young and old. It is extremely important that everyone pay close attention to the surf conditions before going out for a swim. Different colored flags are posted at every city beach access to alert swimmers of the current conditions. Kids should never be allowed to swim by themselves and wear life jackets when near the water. Intoxicated adults should also avoid going out for a swim even if the water appears tranquil.

This year is not nearly as consistent as last year in regards to swells hitting the shores of South Padre Island.
We have had a few decent ones recently with the surf reaching 4-6 feet and glassy conditions. Check out the photos on Seagypsy's website: www.seagypsysphotographs.com/

Infopadre.com Supports the SPI Beach Patrol! So Should You...!
The South Padre Island Beach Patrol is a vital asset to South Padre Island and its tourism. Their main goal is to help save lives! The SPIBP patrol the beaches of South Padre Island daily beginning in March and up until mid-September. They are the first responders to any swimmers' in distress calls, monitor surf conditions, maintain appropriate flag markers, offer basic first aid for jellyfish and stingray victims, and provide information on safety in the ocean.
They will have 3 manned towers set up this year at Clayton's Beach Bar & Grill, Wanna Wanna's, and between the Saida Towers and Isla Grand hotels!
You can show your support by going to their facebook page and comment on their wall or call the city of South Padre Island and thank them for having such a wonderful service that helps protect our locals and tourists who venture out in the waters of our beautiful Island! See more...
